Ida Beauty Academy was founded by Dr. Austin after a restorative conversation with a student revealed her passion and talent for hairstyling. Drawing from her background as a licensed cosmetologist, Dr. Austin designed a program that blends technical training, industry exposure, and entrepreneurship.
To broaden access, Ida Beauty Academy operates through a consortium model that brings together middle and high school students from multiple schools for cosmetology workshops, providing opportunities to explore careers in the beauty industry.

Success is measured by what students can do. Through portfolio-building, live client work, and showcases—not just written tests—students develop practical skills and leave with a portfolio that reflects their growth. Every experience is intentionally designed to prepare students for success in the beauty industry.
