From an early age, I was drawn to spaces where creativity, learning, and community intersect. I saw firsthand how access, opportunity, and support can shape a young person’s life—and I wanted to help make those opportunities real.

Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats, each shaping my understanding of how to nurture growth, leadership, and well-being in students and communities. Creating the #4TheCulture Curriculum was a turning point, allowing me to design programs that tackle real challenges in education while celebrating creativity, culture, and personal potential.

My journey has also been shaped by personal experiences.  After the loss of my brother in 2021, I turned to yoga and holistic wellness to process grief and find balance. This practice became a tool I could share with others as a portal of collective healing. Every initiative I create is rooted in intention, care, and community, and I’m inspired to continue this work with purpose.

My Story

My Work

Under the #4TheCultureCurriculum umbrella, I have developed more than 16 research-informed programs, including cosmetology, barbering, doctor pathways, career exploration, digital photography, mentorship, student authorship, and high school and college preparation. Guided by student data, focus groups, and restorative conversations, I create programs that strengthen attendance, motivation, academic performance, and social-emotional skills while reducing behavioral challenges. Through this work, my students and I have published 4 student-authored books, secured over $500K in grants, and launched DCPS’ first hair salon and barbershop, The Shop, where students across the district participate in workshops and consortium programming to explore careers in cosmetology and barbering.
